To sustain Texas’ wild quail hunting heritage for this and future generations

The Rolling Plains Quail Research Ranch, located 12 miles west of Roby on U.S. 180, was acquired by The Conservation Fund in October 2006.

The Ranch will be used to develop and evaluate management schemes for enhancing quail abundance.  Most of the quail on the ranch are bobwhites, but there are lesser numbers of scaled (“blue”) quail.  The ranch will become a forum for information exchange among land managers, hunters, and rural economies interested in sustaining quail hunting in Texas.
